Global Adult Tobacco Survey. The Republic of Kazakhstan, 2014. Country report.

The Global Adult Tobacco Survey (GATS) is a global standard for systematically monitoring adult tobacco use (smoking and smokeless) and tracking key tobacco control indicators.
The Country report includes information on respondents’ background characteristics, tobacco use (smoking and smokeless), cessation, secondhand smoke, economics, media, and knowledge, attitudes and perceptions towards tobacco use. In Kazakhstan, GATS was conducted in 2014 as a household survey of persons 15 years of age and older.

Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS). The Republic of Kazakhstan, 2014. Country report.

The Global Youth Tobacco Survey (GYTS) was conducted by the National Center for healthy lifestyle development in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the 2014-2015 school year. The country report includes general information on respondents, tobacco use (smoking and smokeless), cessation, secondhand smoke (SHS), pro- and anti-tobacco media and advertising, access and availability to obtain tobacco products, and knowledge and attitudes regarding tobacco among schoolchildren 13-15 years of age.

National report. Epidemiological monitoring of childhood obesity and contributing factors in the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2015-2016.

The National Center for problems of healthy lifestyle development, Ministry of Health the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2015-2016 academic year conducted a survey of the prevalence of childhood obesity, behavioral lifestyle factors among children of 3rd and 4th grades of schools in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The survey is affliated with the World Health Organization European Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative, which was set up in 2006 by the WHO Regional Office for Europe. Kazakhstan joined the fourth data collection round of the COSI study.

Childhood obesity in Kazakhstan: behavioral health risks associated with diet and physical activity.

The paper of the researchers from the National Healthy Lifestyle Development Centre has been published in the December issue of the peer-reviewed WHO journal “The Public Health Panorama” (2017). The paper is based on the results of the COSI survey – the World Health Organization European Childhood Obesity Surveillance Initiative, conducted in 2015-2016 academic year among schoolchildren of 3rd – 4th grades in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
